About the SiteBee site check

If you saw SiteBeeSiteCheck/1.0 (+https://sitebee.co/site-check) in your server logs, that was us. SiteBee helps small businesses across the US get a fast, mobile-friendly website, and we occasionally take a quick look at a business's public homepage to see whether it might benefit.

What it does

• Reads your robots.txt first and respects it. If it disallows SiteBeeSiteCheck or all user agents, we do not fetch anything else.
• Loads your homepage once, plus at most one contact page, then stops. No forms are submitted and nothing is logged into.
• Uses Google's public PageSpeed Insights service to measure mobile speed.
• Checks basic things a visitor would notice: a secure (https) connection, a mobile layout, a clickable phone number, a contact form and an up-to-date copyright line.

How to opt out

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: SiteBeeSiteCheck
Disallow: /

Or email hello@sitebee.co with your domain and we will add it to our do-not-check list.
